RE: [TCLUG:4673] CDR-CDRW Drives and Linux



Check out this site for a good set of instructions for CD-Rs and Linux.

There is a link to a list of supported CD writers. There are a number of
Phillips models listed, but I don't know the number of the model you're
referring to. It will probably work fine, though you'll probably need to
recompile the kernel if it's an IDE drive.

I use an HP 7100 CD-RW (older model of Tim's) and have enjoyed it over the
past year and a half. It worked well in Linux when I had it set up, but that
was some months ago. XCDRoast is a good app.
