Well, you can download the newest tree and extract it in /usr/src


Be aware that you need current utilities to be installed for 2.2.x  Check
www.linuxhq.com for the kernel sources and the required upgrades for 2.2.x!

I recommend you stay with 2.0 if your really antsy about really new but
really tested code.  (totally stable unless you have
really-really-really-really wierd setups.)
